Background:
I am the Employer Engagement Associate at UMD's Career Center, where I create local, regional, and national employer partnerships. I also organize career fairs and workshops. A proud UMD alum, I hold degrees in Public Health and Spanish. I earned my M.Ed. in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Iowa State University. Before joining the Career Center, I worked as a Designated School Official (DSO) and coordinated programming for international students in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at UMD. A fun fact about me: I lived and taught English at an Elementary School in Madrid, Spain!
Areas of Expertise:
I enjoy building relationships with employers to create access and connections that increase job and internship opportunities for UMD students and alumni. Meeting with students individually or during drop-ins is a highlight of my work, and I especially enjoy watching students have meaningful experiences that lead to personal and professional growth. My expertise includes employer engagement, event planning, and supporting students in their career development journey.
Interests:
During my free time, I love spending time by Lake Superior, hiking, and traveling. I’ve explored 26 countries and 49 states so far! I’m proficient in Spanish and am currently learning Arabic.
