Ways to Develop Teamwork

  • Participate in team or group projects in classes. 
  • Work as part of a team in a job setting.
  • Being part of an athletic, music, theater, or other team.
  • Be egalitarian, taking others' viewpoints into consideration and discussing when coming up with group goals or shared projects.

Sample Interview Questions to Demonstrate Teamwork Skills

  • Discuss your experience working as part of a team. What was your role?
  • Give an example of a time you worked in a cross-functional team or interdisciplinary team. 
  • Describe a time when you worked collaboratively with team members of different backgrounds or perspectives than your own. 
  • How do you motivate others on your team? 
  • Discuss a time when you had a conflict with a team member. How did you handle it? What was the result?
